Kmc Foundation Partners With The Perinatal Association Of The Philippines

In September 2011 THE KMC Foundation engaged the Perinatal Association of the Philippines (PAP) into the KMC advocacy of the country. The PAP being a multidisciplinary association of Obstetricians, Pediatricians, Nurses and Midwives, is the most ideal professional organization through which the foundation can accelerate the implementation of KMC and together achieve each other’s vision and mission for the benefit of mothers and their newborns. Under the leadership of its President, Dr. Ma. Theresa G. Cacas, the PAP committed to support the advocacy in three ways: 1) Creation of its own pool of trainers 2) Training and Development of three (3) KMC Centers of training and excellence in different regions of the country, through its regional PAP chapters 3) Conduct of KMC orientation workshops for its members during the PAP annual convention

The KMC Foundation’s master trainers, trained and developed PAP’s pool of trainers which consisted of doctors, nurses, & midwives. Aside from the knowledge and skills in KMC, the team’s leadership and training skills were also enhanced and their values in health care through a spiritual approach were revived.
